NumberingData

All 437 US and Canadian area codes

Each code's page shows how many of its 786 number blocks are allocated, which carriers hold them, and how often the code turns up in FTC spam complaints. Data comes from NANPA's own records and the FTC's complaint files, with the retrieval date on every page.

Assigned but not in service yet

NANPA has allocated these codes but they carry no numbers. Each page says what will change when it starts.

Relief planning in progress

NANPA records these codes as running out, with a new overlay being prepared. The new code is published in a planning letter before it starts.

In service, but no numbers issued

These codes are live in NANPA's records yet no carrier has taken a number block in them. A call showing one of these as its caller ID cannot be a real subscriber.

By province and territory

Canadian number blocks are administered by the CNA rather than NANPA, so Canadian pages carry the numbering facts without block allocation or carrier share.

What is not here yet

Ten Canadian codes are missing because their block allocation comes from the CNA, which we have not imported. Codes are not yet broken down by city: NANPA records rate centers, and in large metros those are telephone zones rather than place names, so city pages wait on a proper mapping. See methodology for the full list of gaps.
